ABOUT ME
I grew up in Rhode Island. Summers were spent at camp or on the beach. I was always very involved with sports, and I played basketball, tennis and volleyball in high school.
I earned my most valued, education in the field of parenting from raising my two children who are kind, empathetic, compassionate, and hard-working individuals who understand the importance of showing strong character even when they are the only ones in the room. They've provided me with the instrumental hands-on experience in many facets and stages of parenting. They continue to inspire me and stretch the bounds of parenting skills every day.
I believe that parenting is the most challenging, most rewarding and most important life-long job that exists. Unfortunately, it's often the one job that comes with little or no training or education framework to learn effective skills along the way.
In my professional career I've worked with hundreds of children and families as an early childhood educator. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, I have many hours of Social Learning Training, and I returned to school to complete a graduate program certificate in Parent Coaching. I am now a PCI Certified Parent Coach®, and I’m so excited to share my experience, education, and passion with parents!

My philosophy is to work in a partnership with families, which most benefits the child. I believe that every child is an individual with her/his own pattern of learning and timetable for social, intellectual, emotional and physical growth.
That's why I founded Lauri Cohen's Parent Coaching to help guide, support, and educate parents as they navigate their unique paths through parenthood. I specialize in helping parents identify, communicate and implement their family values with the whole family!
